Stop Smoking Advisers working in local communities
There are 6 community based stop smoking advisers in Sheffield, their job is to work with you in your local community in a variety of different ways:
- Attending all community events and workshops to raise the awareness of the dangers of smoking and the benefits of stopping.
- Informing local people of the services available to help support people to quit.
- Carrying out smoke free homes work within schools.
- Offering group support or 1-1 sessions at local venues or in your home
- Running drop in sessions at local community venues.
- Offering information and advice on Nicotine Replacement Therapy products.
- Issuing prescription requests to smokers wishing to quit
- Offering withdrawal support and coping strategies to smokers
